Introduction to GIS Using the Web

Introduction to GIS Using the Web

From Foothill College and the Using a Web-Based GIS to Teach Problem-Based Science in High School and College project, this module introduces students to maps, geographic information systems, their applications, web mapping with Google, and addressing. In addition, this module provides a glossary of important terms students should know or learn during the activity. Throughout the module, there are a number of questions for students to answer, activities for further exploration, and a quiz on navigation. This is a helpful resource for the introductory GIS classroom, or for introducing a GIS unit in combination with another field such as geology or ecology.
