Do your part- bridge the digital divide

This is a site that gives you the opportunity to get involved in bridging the digital divide between the developed countries and developing countries. You can donate a computer, become a volunteer for Computer Aid International and test, refurbish and box PCs ready for shipment. You can join the program and help the organizations from Africa, Asia and Latin America - such as: "Women of Uganda network", "ICT for Development Project Bangladesh" and many others. By subscribing to a News letter or filling out the Volunteer form, you can find out the fastest way how to help people all over the world in getting the window to the world.

This web site gives a detailed review of the existing gap between the developed world and countries in development and also promotes cultural diversity through global citizenship by ITS. The online database of projects, which was created by groups of youngsters aged between 6 -17 has helped to connect thousands of youths all over the globe.

It gives information on the digital divide issue and provides at least one solution. Most corporations rotate their equipment on a regular schedule. Some do it yearly, some on a three year basis. This site just might provide a great project for some class to get involved in by contacting corportations and getting them involved.
