The April 16 Archive

The April 16 Archive

The April 16 Archive uses electronic media to collect, preserve, and present the stories and digital record of the Virginia Tech tragedy of April 16, 2007 and its aftermath. The archive is hosted on the Virginia Tech campus, and is curated by students, faculty, and staff. As of December 2007 the archive featured more than 1400 digital objects, including articles, photographs, blog posts, commentary, first-hand accounts, poetry, artwork, and more. We invite all interested individuals to visit the site, and we continue to welcome new contributions from anyone who wants to share and reflect on these events. As reviewed by School Library Journal: "Parents and teachers nationwide have sought ways to discuss this difficult topic with young kids and teens. This Web site can help spur an age-appropriate dialogue about this tragic event."
