Hot, Flat and Crowded

"Thomas L Friedman takes a fresh and provocative look at two of our biggest challenges – the global environmental crisis and America’s surprising loss of focus and national purpose since 9/11 – and shows how they’re linked. He argues that we need American commitment and leadership in a green revolution, a revolution that will be the biggest innovation project in history, one that will inspire us to summon all the intelligence, creativity, boldness and concern for the common good that are our greatest human resources."

Excellent site for the teacher/classroom.  It is very interactive with audio previews, printed PDF, lots of streaming videos and powerpoint presentation(s).  The subject is huge and one that teachers are grappling with trying to determine what should be taught.  I just conducted a workshop on "sustainability" and how to integrate it into the curriculum.  It begs the question of what is it that students should know about sustainability that will make a difference in our world moving forward.  It is our students today that will be stewards of the world in the future.
