Bohrs Theory of the Hydrogen Atom
This applet illustrates a hydrogen atom according to a particle (Niels Bohr) or wave (Louis de Broglie) model. One can choose a principal quantum number n to observe the changes in the speed of the particle or the circumference of the wave. The energy levels of the atom are displayed and change according to the value of n that is chosen. The orbital radius r and the total energy E are displayed as well. Also, one can vary an orbits radius to display a nonstationary state since the circles circumference will not be an integer multiple of the wavelength.
