National Cancer Research Institute: Cancer Research Database

NCRI Partners submit data, on a yearly basis, to the NCRI Secretariat for inclusion in the NCRI Cancer Research Database (CaRD). Every research project is classified using the Common Scientific Outline (CSO). This assigns the research to one of 7 categories: Biology; Aetiology (causes of cancer); Prevention; Early Detection, Diagnosis and Prognosis; Treatment; Cancer Control, Survival, and Outcomes research; Scientific Model Systems. Research projects are subsequently further classified according to subdivisions in these categories, and, where applicable, to tumour location in the body.
