"This course introduces 3 approaches that chemists use to think about chemical equilibrium systems. A qualitative strategy for reasoning about equilibrium is Le Chatelier's principle. Another way of thinking about equilibrium is to consider the progress of reaction. Finally, a quantitative approach allows chemists to determine specific concentrations of species in equilibrium systems.

Each of these three ways of thinking about equilibrium systems focuses on different aspects of the same phenomenon. We use the hemoglobin scenario to demonstrate these three tools."
