This proposal summary of grant submitted by Portland State University with a subcontract to MERLOT ELVISS combines state-of-the-art, recent research and sound pedagogical practice to give a holistic approach to the learning process by placing it in a coherent, online context for all learners. The project is rooted in an inclusive and equitable approach, which does not regard the non-traditional student as an ?economy class? learner. ELVISS is unique in adopting an approach that provides both rich multimedia content combined with its adaptive delivery. All of this will be achieved within the framework of existing and emerging standards.
