This is a  free phonics, reading and math game ideal for Pre-k through 3rd grade students. It has three different game areas to choose from Teach Your Monster to Read, Teach Your Monster Reading for Fun and Teach Your Monster Number Skills. The games will progress based on skill level. The reading games start at letter recognition, then advance to CVC words, all the way to reading for comprehension closer to the 3rd grade level. The website also offers progress monitoring for free. The website also contains a classroom toolkit button where teachers can find other resources for their classrooms such as printable material and other games ideas. I would use this as an informal assessment tool in the place of one of my centers. It is engaging for students, and I love how it does progress monitoring for me. I can occasionally even print the reports and send them home to parents to show them their child's growth.
