There is a potential new drug for the treatment of PTSD called Methylenedioxymethamphetamine ( MDMA) While this psychotropic drug shares a common base drug known as "ecstasy" it is not the same dosing and has had excellent clinical trial results to reduce or eliminate PTSD symptoms. 67% of the participants in the trial reported they no longer have PTSD symptoms. Treatment only takes 4-6 months. It is expected to be approved by the FDA in 2023. It has also shown that the drug does not cause adverse reactions such as suicidal thoughts, increased depression or any addiction to the drug even with former addicts.
