This resource addresses the health conditions of the elderly person (such as femur fracture, musculoskeletal pain, encephalic vascular accident, presbyphagia, hearing, visual, and nutritional impairments and, especially, leprosy) who needs rehabilitation, to ensure the integrality of care, as well as the maintenance or recovery of functional capacity, in order to avoid or delay as much as possible the functional decline and/or regain the lost functionality. The material also contextualizes some conditions regarding their frequency and impact on Brazilian population. In addition, as complementary material, it brings links to related documents and highlights the importance to plan the rehabilitation program along with the other therapeutic interventions and the presence of the elderly person, the family and/or caregivers.
