Mobile information literacy is based on information literacy competencies in the mobile environment. MoL is defined as the ability of individual to find and evaluate the quality and credibility of information obtained online, understand how to create and share online information effectively, and participate safely and securely in the mobile environment of smart phones, mobile phones, and tablets.

According to bibliography MoL is a combination of digital and information literacies for mobile devices community. Mobility allow individuals to access information from distant places whenever they want, quick and easy. The increasing amount of information and mobile devices usage, leads to the need to help learners develop 21st century skills including information literacy and digital literacy skills to survive in a complex and demanding society. It is essential for individuals to have the knowledge and skills in order to benefit from information and mobile technologies aimed at learning independency.
