The study used several measurements to gauge the results. The study of the circumference, skinfold thickness, and leg strength of the casted leg and normal leg resulted in the confirmation of a decrease in all three areas. However, I'm surprised the duration of the cast did not cause much of a difference. I wonder if there are any studies on surgical procedures like joint replacement or amputation.
