This is a group assignment that invites students to engage in their own research on Jane Addams and her conception of [positive] peace. They explore and select material from the Jane Addams Digital Archive, design and deliver their presentation.

Among others, some of the skills students develop when engaging in this exercise are...

• [content production] to create new content relevant to the class topic and make it available to the entire class,

• [research skills] to provide groups the opportunity to practice pursuing their own self-directed research project on Jane Addams, acquire the skill to go work with an online archive and to select relevant material for presentation,

• [team work] to practice allocating responsibilities amongst members of a group, following up on tasks, working out internal group tensions, holding each other responsible, and communicating with one another in a timely manner 

• [presentation skills] to practice jointly presenting on a topic students have researched

• [evaluation] to practice evaluating their own and their group members' contributions to a joint project
