A free video course in macroeconomics, taught one idea at a time in a teaching order. Each video first teaches the concept the way a textbook defines it, explains it step by step with animated diagrams, and then tests it on real data from official sources such as the Federal Reserve's FRED database, the US Bureau of Economic Analysis and the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
It begins with what macroeconomics studies, GDP and economic growth, economic indicators, and inflation: how the CPI is measured, CPI versus PCE versus PPI, core inflation and purchasing power. It then continues to unemployment, money and banking, and monetary and fiscal policy as the course grows to about seventy videos. Each video runs 4 to 8 minutes, has chapter markers and English subtitles, and ends with key points for revision.
Every video is paired with a full written article on the same topic at maseconomics.com, so students can read the idea in depth after watching it.
Suitable for high school students, including AP® Macroeconomics and A-level, and for first-year college students. New videos are added regularly.
