A free video course in econometrics, built in a logical order for students meeting the subject for the first time. Each video first teaches the idea the way a textbook defines it, explains it step by step with animated diagrams, and then applies it to real data from official sources such as the Federal Reserve's FRED database.

It begins with what econometrics is, correlation versus causation, simple linear regression, multiple regression, and standard errors, t-statistics and p-values. It then continues through the assumptions behind ordinary least squares, what happens when they fail, and methods for causal questions, as the course grows to about forty videos in six modules. Each video runs 4 to 8 minutes, has chapter markers and English subtitles, and ends with key points for revision.

Every video is paired with a full written article on the same topic at maseconomics.com, so students can read the idea in depth after watching it.

Suitable for undergraduate students of economics and the social sciences taking a first course in econometrics or applied statistics. New videos are added regularly.
