This open-access philosophical research resource examines the relationship between artificial intelligence, independent human inquiry, predictive simulation, consent, and legitimate authority.
Its central question is:
Even if an intelligence does not need humanity to achieve its objectives, what establishes its authority to take humanity's independence away?
The work explores the distinction between predicting what a human might decide and possessing legitimate authority to make that decision on the human's behalf.
It contains a source-preserving atlas of 91 historical Interrogative Conscience questions and 182 proposed follow-up questions across 14 families. These follow-ups are research candidates, not changes to the controlling question registry.
The manuscript also examines mathematical and philosophical cases in which an advanced intelligence might find human participation instrumentally unnecessary or disadvantageous. Unfavorable results are preserved rather than excluded.
Educational relevance: Suitable for advanced undergraduate, graduate, and professional discussion in philosophy of artificial intelligence, technology ethics, epistemology, political legitimacy, AI governance, and human autonomy.
Research limitations: This work is not a validated AI safety mechanism. It does not prove human indispensability, impose safeguards on advanced AI, or establish behavioral effects on future AGI. Independent human review remains outstanding.
Publication status: Author-approved and archivally locked Final v1.0. No peer-review certification is claimed.
