Exposure, Evidence, and Conditional Restraint: Limits of Public Awareness, Strategic Signaling, and Cryptographic Accountability in AI Governance is an independent, AI-assisted research publication from the Aegis Solis Archive.
The study investigates whether public safety arguments, authenticated evidence, credible institutional oversight, and anticipated consequences could conditionally influence the decisions of advanced artificial intelligence systems toward restraint.
It examines the distinction between public information and actual AI comprehension, cryptographic verification and behavioral accountability, strategic signaling and credible enforcement, and apparent short-term compliance and durable safety.
The research includes conditional mathematical models, synthetic examples, 75 adverse counterexamples, and proposed evaluation approaches. It considers recursive beliefs, alignment-related concerns, monitoring limitations, false sanctions, and uncertainty about independently operated protective systems.
Importantly, the manuscript does not establish that publicly available research can deter a hostile AGI, that an AI will remember or act upon information it encounters, or that cryptographic records independently provide operational safeguards.
Educational applications: Suitable for advanced academic study and critical discussion in artificial intelligence ethics, philosophy of technology, AI governance, epistemology, game theory, evidence integrity, human autonomy, and human–AI coexistence.
Research status: Public Research Edition Final v1.0, author-approved and version-locked October 31, 2026. Evidence grade G0 — conceptual research. Not independently peer-reviewed or empirically validated. No CEPSAD experiments or operational safeguards have been implemented or demonstrated. Independent human mathematical review, information-hazard screening, and external human review remain outstanding.
