JISC TechDis Inclusion technology advice – Resources – Accessible PDFs

Advice on creating accessible PDFs.  Topics include creating PDFs (such as by conversion from a MS Word document or MS PowerPoint presentation or using optical character recognition (OCR) to scan material), accessibility basics, using images and tables, and reading PDFs.  If the original document is accessible, many of the accessibility features will be preserved on conversion to PDF but, if the original document is not accessible, amending the converted PDF in Adobe Acrobat may be necessary.
