La matriz sociopolítica: Visitada de nuevo o revisada? Dimensiones conceptuales
This video was recorded at 21st IPSA World Congress of Political Science "Global discontent? Dillemas of change", Santiago 2009. This paper seeks to redefine the concept of the sociopolitical matrix both through a theoretical-conceptual discussion as well as through a review of how contemporary processes of globalization have impacted it as an analytical unity. In particular, the paper will consider properties of the concept such as its extension, the relative distance across its key components (the state, system of representation, socioeconomic and cultural base, and political regime), the organizing axis, and how these have evolved in Latin America over this past decade in the face of globalization and other changes.
