Sparsity: algorithms, approximations, and analysis
This video was recorded at 25th Annual Conference on Neural Information Processing Systems (NIPS), Granada 2011. The last 15 years we have seen an explosion in the role of sparsity in mathematical signal and image processing, signal and image acquisition and reconstruction algorithms, and myriad applications. It is also central to machine learning. I will present an overview of the mathematical theory and several fundamental algorithmic results, including a fun application to solving Sudoku puzzles.
