Wheel of Public Health Interventions

Wheel of Public Health Interventions

FLASH IS REQUIRED.  The Intervention Wheel was originally introduced in 1998 by the Minnesota Department of Health, Section of Public Nursing.  It is a population-based practice model that encompasses three levels of practice (community, systems, and individual/family) and 17 public health interventions. Each intervention and practice level contributes to improving population health.  The static image is accompanied by a 366 page pdf document titled "Public Health Interventions Applications for Public Health Nursing Practice."

This learning object is an animated version of the wheel.

Great graphic display of the Intervention Wheel with detailed examples to support each separate intervention. Students came to class prepared to discuss the wheel in depth after completing the activity. I will use this resource as long as it is available.
