A team of University of West Georgia professors has teamed up to create a Spanish-language resource that replaces a required, pricey textbook for their students. 

The online textbook, ¡Bievenidos!, is replacing required materials for three Spanish courses at the university. The projected annual savings is about $133,000, which will impact approximately 845 students each academic year. 

The professors believe it will not only reduce costs for students but that it will also increase student success due to better access to online practice environments and increased student engagement. 

Students will have access to instruction on the alphabet and numbers, the pronunciation of various vocabulary words, conjugation of verbs, technology terms, and more. Although it was created with University of West Georgia students in mind, anyone can access the free, open resource
