Beginning nursing students have difficulty understanding clinical judgement. To help these students develop clinical judgement, I have developed an acronym to help the student focus on the important/salient points of nursing care. I call it I AM A Nurse. This tool combines the process of critical thinking and clinical reasoning  to develop clinical judgment within the background of the nursing process.
