A goal of interprofessional health education is to provide the best medical intervention/treatment for patients by getting diverse inputs from multiple healthcare providers. There are a lot of complex patient cases. Also, patient care is not just surgical intervention. We need to understand the patient as a whole, including whether the patient has a caregiver or not, patients’ housing situation, any resources that the patient has any access to. Thus, we can best provide the best course of intervention/care for the patient. However, understanding Interprofessional health education for undergraduate students who have not had any healthcare exposure may be challenging because they may not identify the importance of ‘patient as a whole’ approach. Also, interprofessional health education is a relatively new area so we currently do not have a lot of cases as to how we communicate with other professions. Not only that, if there are interprofessional health intervention cases, usually we do not have access to those cases as those cases may be internal information within hospital networks.

Thus, with the help of generative AI (such as ChatGPT), we might be able to gather specific case-based scenarios and have a better understanding of interprofessional health education.
