ACE brought together an international team of physicists, biologists and medics to study the biological effects of antiprotons

Scientists have been able to use protons that beam into the body with a given amount of energy to destroy a tumor. They are doing experiments on the depth they need to send the protons to destroy the tumor without destroying the healthy cells. They are also coming up with a treatment using anti-protons where they send anti-protons into the tumor to annihilate some atoms in the tumor releasing enough energy to vaporize the tumor....

I never knew about this. The use of antiprotons as a treatment method for cancer therapy. The treatment seems similar to radiation therapy but the source does mention that antiprotons require fewer subatomic particles than protons to inflict the same amount of damage. It does say the drawback is the damage as it can harm healthy tissue. Another issue would be the stage of cancer as I assume it would not be able to target large-scale areas. Nonetheless, it does seem like a more effective and interesting way to treat certain cancers.
