Stigmery is a free, browser-based environment for building and running agent-based models, with no installation or account required. Learners can explore a set of classic models, including predator-prey dynamics, Schelling segregation, ant foraging (stigmergy), Conway's Game of Life, Reynolds flocking, an SIR virus-on-a-network, Gray-Scott reaction-diffusion, and cyclic cellular automata. They can modify the rules and parameters to see how emergent patterns arise from simple local interactions. Models are defined in a small JSON-based rule language, which makes the tool suitable for teaching introductory modelling, complexity, and emergence in courses across the social and natural sciences.
