This document which includes a rationale, diagnostic test and assignment marking guide, outlines a strategy which aims to embed academic integrity into Midwifery 1, a coursework/clinical based postgraduate subject (course).

Many students have limited experience in academic writing. Those who come from an undergraduate Nursing degree have often done little academic writing, and this course has many mature-aged students whose nursing education was completed in hospitals. The learning outcome for the intervention is to highlight the importance of academic integrity when writing, and more specifically to avoid accidental plagiarism through improved skills in paraphrasing and referencing.
