hitRECord.org

The HITRECORD.ORG project was started by actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt, evolving into a professional open collaborative production company. They "create and develop art and media collaboratively" on the site. Various contributors gather "to collectively work on projects together. Videos, writing, photography, music, anything" and call them all RECords. A film like the short RECord entitled "Morgan and Destiny’s Eleventeeth Date – The Zeppelin Zoo" can be used in cinema studies courses to provide examples of various film concepts.

I was delighted to discover this cutting edge film collection resource.  My students enjoyed "Morgan and Destiny’s Eleventeeth Date – The Zeppelin Zoo" very much.  They were able to discuss film concepts readily and enthusiastically: scene, shots, camera angles and movement, story, music, animation, acting, classicism, formalism, ideology, and more.  I explore this website again and again to uncover more opportunities for my courses.
